For the outer packaging illustration design of a cosmetics brand, the theme of the illustration revolves around the modern women of 1930s Shanghai.
Shanghai in the 1930s was known as the "Paris of the East," a dazzling and cosmopolitan metropolis with its bustling nightlife and vibrant international scene. In this glamorous era, the city could simultaneously screen the latest Hollywood blockbusters fresh from American theaters, as well as offer access to newly published fashion magazines like Vogue and the fashion bible WWD.
Amid this world of luxury and decadence, stylish Shanghai women curled their hair into waves, dressed in lavish Western-style gowns or elegant qipaos, and adorned themselves with pearl necklaces and earrings.
